My Music

I’ve been writing more music recently, so I thought I would gather everything here in one spot. I’ll add more material as time goes on.

This music is all licensed as Creative Commons, Non-Commercial, Attribution, so feel free to help yourself!

Some new additions

Picture yourself wake-boarding in the asteroid belt in the 60’s and you’ll see the mood I was going for. The song is calledĀ Space Surfer.

Around the Corner is a sort of generic pop sounding one, but with a slightly different chord progression than you’d normally expect in this kind of thing.

Strolling Through Scarborough is a little jazz ditty written originally for Mark Blevis for use in the Rock Stars of Reading video project for Just One More Book, and also since featured from time to time in Scarborough Dude’s extremely fine DicksnJane podcast.

Lullaby is a work in progress; the guitar part is done (and is what you get here, so it works as a three verse loop), and I have words written, but have yet to lay down a vocal track that I’m happy with. Someday soon, I hope.

Songs

Miniature # 1 A very short piano piece, done in GarageBand

Whistle Song Having fun with sort of a Celtic sound.

Friends Again This is a song I wrote for the September 2008 Stevie Z Song Challenge.

Sepia I downloaded some decent strings and Oboe instruments for Garageband, and in playing around with them came up with this.

Hand of Friendship This is a guitar piece I wrote last summer. This is at best a demo recording of it; some muffled/buzzing notes still present; at some point I will have to learn to play it again; it’s fallen off my fingers :( .

Red Uniform Star Trek Punk!

“Snippets” (used as podcast backgrounds, transitions, etc.)

Guitar Beat 1

Guitar Beat 2

Here is some “guitar” stuff done with the RealGuitar plug-in, in Garage Band:

12 String #2

Mucking around with the classical guitar

Analog synth stuff in Garageband
